Profile of Jambalasse
Jambalasse Entertainment was established in 2001 by a young enterprising female Barbadian who wanted to enjoy and share the wonderful experience of “jumping-up” through the streets of Bridgetown for ‘foreday morning with her friends in a safe and organized fashion.
We have produced nine successful bands over the last nine years and this success can in part be attributed to careful planning and truly understanding and catering to the needs of our members. However, the major portion of our success must really be credited to our faithful INSOMNIACS themselves who come out to party with us year after year and spend that sleepless night dancing through the streets of Bridgetown until sunrise symbolically ushering in the dawn of a new day - That new day which signals the beginning of the last lap of Crop-Over activities for yet another year!
The Jambalasse Insomniacs are without a doubt the largest organized Foreday Morning band coming in at just about 600 on the road in 2009 which is an even greater membership than a significant number of Grand Kadooment bands! Evidence of our popularity and success has been highlighted over the last few years as we have hosted various local and International film crews including BET Jazz. Being chosen by BET Jazz was certainly a major achievement for us and one of the highest points in the history of Jambalasse. The film crew we hosted last year, 2009, was the very popular Boom Tribe crew from the show “Roamin”… Which one will it be in 2010…
